Tsurucon is Red Deer, Alberta's one and only anime and multimedia convention with panels and events catering to comic, videogame, cosplay, and anime enthusiasts! We are a non-profit event, that will be hosted on May 7th, 2016 at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School and Festival Hall. We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone that made Tsurucon 2015 a success! We wouldn't be where we are now without all of your support!
Sincerely,
-The Tsurucon Team
A Short Introduction
OUR TEAM
PRINCIPALS
/ CORE VALUES
01
We initially started this convention as a way to bring a very accepting, well celebrated culture into our small city. As frequent con-goers and cosplayers ourselves, we really love and cherish the con community and the people involved in it. It was important to us to make sure that individuals living in Red Deer and the surrounding area also had the opportunity to experience it.
Our main goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our attendees. This of course means that the safety and comfort of our attendees comes first and foremost. We take great pride in selecting our volunteers and staff members, in order to make sure that discrimination or harassment of any kind is a non-issue, and that all groups may enjoy themselves at our event.
The Cosplay ≠Consent and Cospositivity campaigns are very important to our convention. Both the convention and cosplay community should be a warm, welcome enviroment for individuals of all ages, skill levels, and talents. If your admiration of someone’s costume is non-consensual (i.e, you are harassing/assaulting them in ANY way), and/or ruins their experience, it has instantly become unacceptable to us. No discrimination of any kind is tolerated at Tsurucon.
